Cisco AP operational status shows down

Cisco AP operational status shows down in: Cisco Aironet Access Point

Uncheck “Power Injector State” and click apply then reboot AP (Under Wireless > Access Points > All AP’s > Advanced)

Reboot AP by clicking on “reset AP Now” (Under Wireless > Access Points > All AP’s > General)

Then once AP is back up after reboot. Select Power Injector State box and select “Installed” in drop down box and click apply. Which set it to Foreign and but in the MAC address automatically. (Under Wireless > Access Points > All AP’s > Advanced)

  1. Had a weird issue where we upgraded the cisco switch the cisco AP was connected to and then its Operational Status changed to DOWN. if we connected it directly to a POE port on the controller it worked fine. move it back to the new cisco switch with its POE adapter and status went back to down. could ping the AP and manage it from the controller no problem. when I reviewed the 'Power Injector State' per your article above, that box was not checked, so I thought this might not apply. so I selected it and then hit the hardware reset button. it came back up and the Op status went to UP. did the same for the other AP that had the same issue and it started working as well. So an article from 2016 fixed my 2023 issue. Thanks!
