Jabber MRA ICE Media Path Optimization

Let’s now review how to enable support for ICE Passthrough on the Expressway-C MRA traversal zone.

1. On WKST1, from the Firefox browser, navigate to the Expressway-C server administrator interface at https://exp-c-1.dcloud.cisco.com/.Jabber MRA two clients media talk directly.

 

2. Navigate to Configuration > Zones > Zones. In the resulting zone list, click Traversal Client (MRA).

3. Notice the ICE Passthrough support field is set to On.

4. Navigate to Configuration > Unified Communication > Unified CM servers. Click cucm1.dcloud.cisco.com.

5. Notice the ICE Passthrough support field is set to On.

 

Review the TURN Server on Expressway-E is Enabled

1. In the Firefox browser on WKST1, return to the Expressway-E server administrator interface. (https://exp-e-1.dcloud.cisco.com/. If prompted, log in with admin / dCloud123!)

2. Navigate to Configuration > Traversal > TURN.

3. Notice the TURN services is set to On and the TURN server status is Active.

Review Configure ICE / TURN Settings in Common Phone Profile

1. Using the Chrome browser on WKST1, return to the Unified CM administrator interface at https://cucm1.dcloud.cisco.com/ccmadmin/. If prompted, log in with administrator / dCloud123!

2. Navigate to Device > Device Settings > Common Phone Profile. Click Find. Click Jabber MRA ICE.

 

3. The following settings have been configured for the new Common Phone Profile by ticking the Override Enterprise Settings check box next to the ICE section settings as indicated (values with asterisks are non-default):

• Common Phone Profile Information section:

 

4. Navigate to Device > Phone. Click Find.

5. Click Monica Cheng’s device to open her Phone Configuration page.

6. Under the Device Information section, notice the Common Phone Profile is Jabber MRA ICE.

7. Repeat for Walt Whitman’s device.
