Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Installation Manual

Prerequisite:

VMware Workstation 5.5.2

Storage 1G

Hard drive 50G（above 40G required）

2 NIC card（bridged）

Use MPX install disk. When you see the installation page, click yes to start copying files

Eject disk  then reboot

After rebooting, you are unable to login X-win because of problem of display setting. solve this problem by installing vmtool :

Press Alt+F1, enter root，password : cisco

Choose linux.iso.

File location is under installation directory.  By default, it is C:\Program

Files\VMware\VMware Workstation

USE cdrom using CLI

cd /

mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt

cd /mnt

use ls to check tar.gz file . Assume file name is VMware-tools.tar.gz

cp VMware-tools.tar.gz /tmp

umount /dev/cdrom

cd /tmp

tar zxf VMware-tools.tar.gz

VMware-tools

cd /VMware-tools

./vmware-install.pl

Continue to click next

After finishing drivers Alt+F7.  You are able to see GUI interface

next

Enable NIC.

set up dns

mail server

Timezone

time

Insert installation DVD

Continue

Accept the agreement, and set up hostname for each NIC

Setup password for root nad mpxadmin

reboot

Login using root account

Copy license:

cp license.dat /opt/cisco/meetingplace_express/Licenses

reboot

Use MPX 1.1.2-155 upgrade disk. Under X-WIN, run bin rule. Choose run in the terminal. Then reboot.

Open a browser

Login name : admin

password : cisco
