Telepresence devices registration

Not can all video devices register to CUCM AND VSC. In this example ,we use EX60, E20, 9971. First we get video devices registered to CUCM by using several ways, like auto register, manual register, BAT and TAPS.
If not many video devices need to be registered or needed to update, manual is good way.
If you just start your IPT project, use auto register with TAPS.
If it’s easy to get all devices’ info, BAT or even TAPS is used to complete this task.
Because it’s a lab, domo uses manual register.
Registering has two parts, CUCM  and VCS-C
Part1
Use register wizard to get EX60 registered into specific server. If an EX60 has configuration already, logon web page of it to setup IP (Touch Pad), login username is admin and password is blank, like below:

I upgraded it to a version above 7.0(many new features need 7.0+)
Client side:

Make sure one of protocols is enabled(h323 or sip), and choose one of them. SIP is recommended, and VCS supports a client registers with both.
clip_image005
Fill out the address of proxy server(CUCM or VCS), and choose transmit protocol and type
clip_image007
Add device entry on CUCM

Assign a phone number

You are able to check devices are registered successfully

Enable web snapshot and presentation, and make sure cables and camera is working properly.

E20 register:  setting up IP/DNS on E20, and enable auto-register on CUCM

Register status on E20 and CUCM

clip_image023
Register way on 9971 is same like old 79 series phones. But you have to enable camera function, otherwise, video call won’t work.
Call E20 from EX60, testing auto and video calls between two.
Part 2
Register EX60 and E20 into VCS-C
Enable protocol (H323/SIP) on VCS

Create domain
clip_image030
Creating domain is for VCS to match Host portion and lookup URI, also to find path for processing routes.
Without domain, register will also work, but we have to fill  VCS address in Host portion instead of the format like xxxxsuancai.com. This format is easy to read and remember.
VCS can have one or more domains in terms of design. Here I created two domains, three devices is using different ways to register in.

First, EX60 registered to expressway-c using SIP :
clip_image032
This is URI format
Then two E20 use the same way registering to VCS with URIs:
6001@suancai.com 6002@abc.com
User portion can be user name rather than numbers in terms of user’s habit.
After register, check the VCS:

From the picture above, you find the destination server is the same one, but different names.
Most of Cisco TP devices support not only sip but H323.
Get EX60 registered to VCS using H323
clip_image036
The callsetup mode is GK, if you want to use peer to peer, then choose direct. Port allocation is dynamic, address is VCS. If you are using DNS, fill out domain name of vcs. H323 alias name is devices with number or id.

You find device is registered via H323, but only one in Device.
By alias:
